I passed by Unnameable Books in Prospect Heights a couple weeks ago, and saw this amazing book winking at me from the window. I love the kid's attitude (such a sassy stance, below!), that he lives in a brownstone, that his cats are named Cat and Cat-Cat, and that his relationship to the Big Man is completely undefined.

oh my goodness, this is so great. the blog oh juniper! has a section on 'terrifying nixon-era children's books' but i think i like the friendly ones more.
Is the cat riding in a little car in the last picture??? Oh Cat-Cat you've done it again!
Oh my gosh, I think you're right. This book gets better every time I look at it.
